"Take a one of a kind voice, a commanding stage presence, and a killer songwriter who can conjure up the long lonesome feeling of bluegrass music with a stealth and hearty vocal like no other."  --Bill Barnett, Saltymoss Media

Edgar Loudermilk Band

Edgar Loudermilk’s signature voice, bass skills, and songwriting have become his trademark, garnering industry awards and nominations.  Edgar Loudermilk’s distinctive and powerful vocals cut to the heart of a song, while also winning over audiences with his friendly, down-home style.

In addition to touring and performing, Edgar Loudermilk has experienced great success as a songwriter.  To quote Edgar, "I see songwriting as much of a calling as singing.  Songwriting is a big part of it for me.  Playing and singing is great fun and a good time, and we love the audiences, but the art of crafting words and music into a song is very rewarding."

Numerous songs written and performed by Edgar Loudermilk have been chart topping songs on Bluegrass Today’s Top Songs of the Year, as well as on Bluegrass Unlimited’s Top Songs. Notably, the band’s 2019 Rural Rhythm Records album release of “Lonesome Riverboat Blues,” reached #1 status on the Sirius XM Bluegrass Junction “Most Played” status for July, 2019.  In addition, “Lonesome Riverboat Blues” spent 12 weeks in the Top 20 of the Bluegrass Today Airplay Charts.

The band’s recently released album “The Dark Side of Lonesome” has already seen chart action from Edgar Loudermilk-penned songs, with the release of the title track, "The Dark Side of Lonesome,"  “I’ll Put The Blame On You,”  and "I Hope She Sings."

Joining Edgar Loudermilk (upright bass and lead vocals) are musicians Zack Autry (mandolin), Jamey Pittman (lead guitar), and Anthony Howell (banjo).

The Edgar Loudermilk Band tours coast-to-coast and throughout Canada.  Follow the band at www.edgarloudermilk.com, as well as on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

A Bit of History...

Prior to stepping out with his own band in 2015, Edgar Loudermilk experienced a long tenure of performing with the award-winning groups Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, and Marty Raybon & Full Circle.

In 2015, Edgar formed his own band with highly acclaimed guitarist, Jeff Autry.  The Edgar Loudermilk Band, featuring Jeff Autry  released the well-received "Georgia Maple" album in 2016, garnering significant airplay. In 2018 the band released a single, “It’s a Way of Life That Stands the Test of Time,” debuting in the Top 20 of the Bluegrass Today Airplay charts. Written by Loudermilk and Wayne Benson, the 2018 release received fantastic audience response during the band’s live performances on their coast-to-coast tours.

In 2017, Edgar's self-penned song, "Can't Live Life," was recorded by Rhonda Vincent & Daryle Singletary as part of their "American Grandstand" album--that album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart, and in July of 2017, it was on Billboard's Top 10 of Top Current Country Albums, as well as No.1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Album Chart for the week of July 29, 2017.  The album went on to be #1 on Splice Today's Top 10 Country Albums of 2017.

In 2019 the Edgar Loudermilk Band released "Lonesome Riverboat Blues" on the Rural Rhythm Records label.  The CD's title track, "Lonesome Riverboat Blues" garnered much success with spending more than a dozen weeks in Top 20 of the Bluegrass Today Bluegrass Airplay charts, as well as charting numerous times on Bluegrass Unlimited's National Bluegrass Survey.   “Lonesome Riverboat Blues,” reached #1 status on the Sirius XM Bluegrass Junction “Most Played” status for July, 2019.

In early 2021, the Edgar Loudermilk Band saw chart action from two self-penned songs on their upcoming CD, “The Dark Side of Lonesome,” with the release of the title track and their second release, “I’ll Put The Blame On You.”
